The Cumberland Pencil Company is delighted to announce the inaugural Derwent Art Prize for works created in pencil. This drawing has been selected for the exhibition so I'm proud that it will be on show at the Mall Galleries, London, 16th - 21st September 2013 ! Please remember that the artist whose work receives the most votes will receive the People's Choice Award at the exhibition.

Floriane ¤ Portrait Prize Exhibition 2013 at the RBSA Gallery, Royal Birmingham Society of Artists from 17 July to 24 August 2013

This painting has been selected by three senior Members of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters (RP) to be on display at the RBSA Gallery, Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, for the Portrait Prize exhibition 2013 from 17 July to 24 August 2013.

The judges selected over 50 works – about a quarter of those submitted - which they feel will make a very high quality exhibition. 

Prizes to the value of £1,500 will be awarded on Tuesday 16 July by Nicola Kalinsky, Director of the Barber Institute of Fine Arts. 

Private view and Presentation of Prizes by Alastair Adams, President of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters will be on Thursday 18 July (6.00-8.00pm)

Dans le mirroir ¤ Self Portrait at SELF, Royal Society of Portrait Painters 2013.

This work has been selected from almost 1,000 entries for the Royal Society of Portrait Painters new Self-Portraiture competition; SELF.

The artist with the winning work will receive a cheque for £20,000.

My self-portrait will appear in a special exhibition alongside paintings by some of Britain’s leading portrait artists in the Royal Society of Portrait Painters annual exhibition in Central London.

The new prize and special section of the exhibition aims to explore self-representation in painting and drawing. Free from the constraints of commissioned portraiture, the self-portrait does not seek to flatter the sitter, pay a model, play slave to time and is free to explore character and medium; the artist is at liberty to push the boundaries and experiment.

 The exhibition will be on display at the Mall Galleries, London, near Trafalgar Square between 9 and 24 May 2013, for the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition. 

Cette peinture a été sélectionnée parmi plus de 1000 candidatures pour participer à l'exposition "SELF", exposition organisée par la Royal Society Of Portrait Painters.

L'artiste qui gagnera le prix recevra un chêque de 20 000 £.

Mon autoportrait sera exposé aux côtés de peintures réalisées par quelques uns des plus influents portraitistes britaniques à l'occasion de la Royal Society of Portrait Painters annual exhibition, en plein centre de Londres. 

Le but de ce prix, ainsi que de cette nouvelle exposition "SELF" est d'explorer et de promouvoir l' autoportrait en peinture et en dessin. Libéré de toutes contraintes de commandes, le travail ne doit pas payer le modèle, doit le respecter, ne doit pas le rabaisser, mais toutefois l artiste est libre de travailler comme bon lui semble.

L'exposition aura lieu à The Mall Galleries, à Londres, à côté de Trafalgar Square, du 9 au 24 mai 2013, pour la Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition.
